What makes Le Vigne different?

It’s a question our tasting room hosts are frequently asked…..”What makes Le Vigne different from other wineries”? 

While they could talk about our incredible wines, that alone is not what makes us different.

They could talk about our extensive cheese selection, available for purchase from the tasting room 7 days a week. They could talk about our paired wine and cheese flights, curated by our winemaking team and our in-house cheese specialists but that would still not be enough to make us different.

They would talk about our wine club memberships which provide incredible value and an array of options for you to enjoy at home. Options include Il Formaggio and La Tavola which allow members to add gourmet paired cheese and food options to their membership; allowing you to bring a taste of the winery to your home. Limited release and library wines are a perk of being a member, but we still don’t believe that’s what makes us different!

They would definitely talk about Chef Walter, our owner and classically trained chef. Whether Walter is curating a Take & Bake menu for you to enjoy at home, hosting a sunset dinner under the pistachio trees, curating an intimate dinner for 10 guests to enjoy in our private dining room or preparing and incorporating dishes he learned and enjoyed with his mother over 50 years ago in his native Italy, it’s still not what makes Le Vigne different.

The ingredients that Chef Walter works with at the winery are often talked about. Our Neapolitan pizzas served on the patio are made with a secret family recipe tomato sauce, dough that’s handmade on site and extra virgin olive oil harvested from our Arbequina trees here on the ranch. Our Mother’s and Father’s Day meals this year included items such as Berkshire Pork and Wagyu (Kobe) Beef and our Take & Bake meals feature fresh local vegetables from the market every weekend as well as premium ingredients from Italy and Spain such as Chorizo Iberico & Prosciutto Cotto. We would be remiss not to mention events such as our Truffle Dinner, 5 courses each featuring truffles or our annual Gouda Burger BBQ which this year features Mama Iole’s relish and pizza dough bread rolls made fresh to order in our pizza oven. Many wineries would claim, if they could, that incredible quality ingredients were the difference maker for them but it’s still not enough for Le Vigne.

We love to talk about our people at the winery – we wouldn’t be where we are today without them. Each of our tasting room hosts takes the time to welcome you to the winery as they would their own home – we treat our employees like “famiglia”, and they treat our guests the same way. Whether recommending a wine, helping curate an incredible cheese and charcuterie plate, suggesting a great spot for dinner locally or sharing stories of their favorite wines and varietals, everyone will make you feel at home – our people are a large part of what makes us different but not the single difference maker.

So what makes us different is a combination of all of the above plus one special “ingredient” we haven’t spoken of yet – YOU! We are honored at Le Vigne to have guests, or Family is the term we prefer, that visit us 20+ times a year. We have Family who have been visiting us since the turn of the century. We have Family who regularly allow us to celebrate with them in some of life’s most important moments like a birthday or anniversary. We have Family who pop by the winery with homemade baking treats for the tasting room hosts (the cupcakes on July 4th were a hit with everyone) and we have Family who we look forward to seeing as much as they look forward to seeing us.
